Dr. Stacey Franklin Jones is an accomplished computational scientist. Alongside an extensive list of professional accolades, she maintains the position of Head of Research at O Analytics. With a career spanning almost three decades, Dr. Jones has provided technical and engineering contract support for both private sectors and government agencies. She has helped to secure and administer more than $100 million in proposals, grants, and contracts that support government agencies such as United States Air Force, Department of Defense, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Security Agency (NSA), as well as the Department of Energy.
Early on in her career, Dr. Stacey Franklin Jones worked as a Defense and Electronic Systems Software Engineer and Product Development Manager for the now Northrop Grumman in Maryland. Dr. Jones also became an engineering manager and systems architect for various Maryland-based companies before she shifted to pioneering work in higher education. For almost two decades, she held distinguished professor, executive, administrative, and research positions at highly regarded universities including John Hopkins University and Norfolk State University. She served as research scientist, faculty member, department chairman, dean, chancellor, provost, and held senior and other vice president positions. Dr. Stacey Franklin Jones achieved remarkable feats. She helped an ailing organization to achieve a clean state financial audit, fundraised more than $20 million, co-designed a cyber-psychology complex, and secured a research innovation facility in a major city. She also served in pivotal tactical higher ed positions performing administrative turnarounds that lead to swift financial stabilization and unexpected achievement of regional accreditation. Indeed, Dr. Stacey Franklin Jones has played a vital role in preparing students for a fast-changing, globally competitive world.
Equally important are the notable contributions made by Stacey Franklin Jones in the private sector, where working as a senior consultant in corporate development, technology partnerships, and executive management she helped technology-focused companies cultivate their scientific and technology support services. Dr. Jones was also a defense and electronic systems phased array sensor, image processing, and command and control software engineer.
In recognition of her innovative research, state-of-the-art systems development, and contribution to higher education, Dr. Stacey Franklin Jones received numerous awards throughout her distinguished career. Additionally, from 2005 to 2006, she was an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow and a Bush Foundation Grant Recipient and was also a recipient of the South Carolina Governor’s Award for Excellence in Scientific Awareness.
